Ski-doo GTX 550f vs Artic Cat T570?

Hi, I am trying to decide between a Ski-doo GTX 550F and an Arctic Cat T570. Other then your opinion on which is better, one of the questions I have is: is there much difference between a 136 inch track with 1.25 inch lugs (Ski-doo) vs a 144 inch track and 1 inch lugs (AC). I can't imagine, but I don't know. The Ski-doo is about 700-800 more also. I will be using it more for touring and family stuff but every few months of the year I will be going on LONG trips and hauling back hundred of pounds of meat (hopefully). Thanks.

The different width of the track makes you have the same approx "footprint" 136 x 16=2176 sq inch, 144 x 15 =2160 sq inch . the ski-doo is a slightly larger footprint and you'll notice those 1.25" lugs in the deep stuff. I'm now a ski-doo guy cause over the years I've found them to be more trouble free. My answer, SKI-DOO

The difference between the 136" track and the 144" track is that the 144" will have a larger contact patch. More of the track will contact the ground. This is essential for deep snow, the sled will "float" on top rather than plow through.

For long trips through the back country and deep snow, I would choose the Arctic Cat. This sled has a larger motor, larger payload and a larger track "footprint".

You can never go wrong with a Ski-Doo. They're the best.

Also the Ski-Doo's are most of the time bigger than Arctic Cats, you'll have more fun on the Ski-Doo. And because of its bigger size it'll be easier when it comes to hauling things.
