Michelle Kwan's injury got to her. 1/20 chance for Emily Hughes to medal.

Well, you maybe right to a point. I think Michelle was under alot of pressure. You can only be at the top for a little while. If by your second Olympics you do not get Gold; the odds are you will not get one in the third Olympics b/c of the age factor. Michelle is young....but an older skater. She really was consider not to medal at all. So prehaps it was forced on her in that sense, but she agreed that she was not up to the challenge of winning a Gold medal...or any medal for that matter.
I hope that helps....
If Emily Hughes is as good as her sister...then yes...she has a chance of winning...with no mistakes...

Michelle kwnan had and still has an injury! it is very hard to compete at that level with a few pulled muscles. i think emily hughes deserves to skate in the olympics and 'go for the gold' because let's face it, she earned it at nationals, she placed third. life is rarely fair. so let's just cheer for team USA. maybe sasha cohen will be the one everyone is talking about after the games are over, anyway.

I don't think Michelle should of pushed her way in?
Don't get me wrong I think Michelle is a great skater and I would of like to see her skate in the Olympics, but Emily won the right to be at the Olympics and it's a share she lost the right to be at opening ceremonies.

i don't think she was pushed out......i don't thinkshe is the kind of person who would allow someone to do that to her. remember this was very important to her and she wouldn't give up that easily.......on the other hand i don't think emily hughes will get a medal because she's not at that level yet.

in my opinion, i think of thaat she could have stayed in. i think of it could have been extra suited for her to take that possibility. shes an extremely good skater and merely would have gained a medal. i dont think of she made the main suitable decision.
